Most WTC dead in top floors (link)

Most WTC dead in top floors - according to an article at news.com. Sean Rooney called his wife, Beverly Eckert, from  his office at Aon Corp on the 98th floor of the south tower just as the second plane was screaming across New York Harbor. "Honey, this is Sean again," he said. "Looks like we'll be in this tower for a while. ... I'll talk to you later. Bye.".  The poor Bastard !!!

Error Handling using XML-RPC (link)

Error Handling using XML-RPC - have been working with David/Jeremy on an XML-RPC application. Documentation in the XML-RPC spec is lacking on generation of application level errors. Turns out there's a <fault> structure that can be set and returned by the server (and queried by the client).

Basically, U need to create two containers as children of the <fault> parent, <faultCode> and <faultString>, and test for these at the client end.  One minor issue is, U need to keep track of what code relates to which error condition and U need to be careful about reuse of codes in different context as there is no standard set of error codes.

Compaq IPaq web requests (link)

Compaq IPaq web requests - have been interested in inluding checking for PDAs in the browser_detect.shtml file for awhile. A couple of members of WICeD have got Compaq IPaqs with network cards, so I captured a sample log entry for a request from one of the today.  The browser installed on them identifies itself as IE3 on the Windows CE platform.

AxKit: XML Web Publishing with Apache and mod_perl (link)

AxKit: XML Web Publishing with Apache and mod_perl - this is a mod_perl project recently gathered under the XML-Apache umbrella and was originally developed by Matt Seargent. It's something of a Perl alternative to Cocoon in the XML/XSL web site/application presentation world. AxKit uses Sablotron (which we have installed allready) by default for XSL processing. Being written in and extensible by Perl, we oughta be able to make quicker use of this than Cocoon.
