The newly released Open Office 1.0 (link) The newly released Open Office 1.0 was copied to ftp.waikato by Simon this week. He's been using it for a few days without major probs. SlashDot folks are very excited about it's release of course. Apart from being an open-source alternative to Micro$oft's office suite, OpenOffice also uses XML for its file formats in all applications. This has some obvious applications in the web sphere when combined with XSL/XPath. 10:53:25 AM
