Man-made Junk in Space (link)  Man-made Junk in Space - Ever wondered how much man-made junk is floating around up in space. At the moment the Office for Human Exploration Science in the US is tracking over 10,000 objects greater than 10cm in size. The scary thing is that just a 1cm sized object is capable of smashing a hole through the International space station and there are estimated to be over 100,000 objects larger than that.5:24:45 PM

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (link) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 has been released by the W3C as an update to the original which was released in May/1999. The update includes feedback from readers of the original spec but has the same objective, to guide tool and site authors in ways of making their product more accessable to those with disabilities or impedements. 5:10:09 PM

TXT to XML to HTML with Perl and Sablotron (link) 404 Error Reports by site are being published as of today using a perl script that parses the HTDig daily crawl summary to create an XML file containing all 404s, one XML file per site (based on info from the UOWWeb database) and the individual site files are transformed to new html 404 reports using Sablotron. This to do include grouping multiple broken links on the same page under a single list instead of repeat from-to pairs, and including 404 data for links into the site from another (currently the reports only show links from the site being reported on) Have knocked up a process diagram here which is a screenshot of the Visio file in the 2:51:18 PM
