Kiwis put $4b on plastic (link)
Kiwis put $4b on plastic - According to Reserve Bank data for November "New Zealanders had a record $3.6 billion of outstanding debt on the plastic cards ... That is almost $1000 for every New Zealander". Coincidentally I spent almost exaclty $1000 on my card during November/December on xmas bullshit. Another coincidence is that the figure of $4b is frighteningly close to the current student dept in New Zealand. Fortunately I had a couple a grand in my savings account to pay the bugger off, which is more fortunate than the thousands of NZers who will now be wondering how they're gonna pay theirs off before accruing interest. Maybe I could clear my portion of the student dept too while I'm at it, using with the remainding $1000 in my savings account? No doubt the evil BayCorp folks will be having a fieldday. According to the getting out of dept guide at sorted.org.nz its not exactly brain-surgery, you just pay off the highest-interest dept first, ie your credit-card. Jeeze, its so simple. 5:22:21 PM |
