Swine Sperm Altered for Organ Use - By manipulating swine sperm, Italian researchers have made a strain of pigs that carry human genes in their hearts, livers and kidneys, an advance that could lead to creating herds of pigs that could provide organs for transplanting into humans.

I can tell you one thing, theres a particular pig 'organ' that I definately dont want transplanted onto me.

Australians 'intercepted' terrorist plot - a Sydney Morning Herald article today states that "Australian intelligence eavesdropped on radical Muslim extremists discussing attacks on Australian citizens in the weeks before the Bali terrorist bombing, according to a report published in the United States".

No doubt this snooping was a 'result' of the mighty echelon network infrastructure doing its thing, and no doubt the fact that the 'interception' wasn't acted on in a timely fashion is seen as an embarrassing failure of the network which is why we haven't heard the claims like "finally echelon pays for itself". So its back to snooping on joe citizen I guess for another decade.
