RIP Tony Berry  (6/5/46 - 11/10/02)

I had the day off yesterday to say goodbye to my uncle-Tony. He wasnt just my uncle of course :-) .. I share him with plenty of other family members who were all gathered in one of the Church halls in Waihi for his funeral service.

The two photos side-by-side provide an excellent snap-shot of Tony's personality. You could rely on him to be in a jovial mood no matter what the surrounding circumstances, he seemed to have a cheeky child-like air and glimmer in his eyes that he now takes with him to wherever he's going, and which I'll remember until I see him again.

We all heard loads of hard case stuff about his childhood antics from his family and friends, none of it which was a suprise. There were a few laughs, and pleanty of sobs of course. One thing that always freaks me out at funerals is the number of people who find the strength to talk in detail about their friend or loved-one without totally losing it. Yesterday was no exception.

Look after yaself up there mate...
