Viva le V (link)
I popped down the road tonight after dinner to our local Gulf station to pick up a couple of cans of V coz I've got a crap load of stuff to do for work before I head off on Friday to the O'Reilly open-source conference in the States. I cruised to the fridge just inside the door, grabbed the drinks and shuffled my slipper clad feet up to the counter to pay for the goods. The overly friendly late-night worker nodded and winked at the V's and asked me "Going to work or Goin home?". At first I wasnt sure if he was actually talking to me coz he had one wonky eye and I thought he was looking out past me to the forecourt, but then I realised he was talking about the energy drinks of course. Hehe, yeah funny dude (I indicated with a smirk) ... "Actually I'm going home to work" Check this out... I just had a poke around on the official V-Energrydrink website and they've got this user feedback page which includes some classic comments, cant believe they leave them there...
and this one shows its popular with students :-) ...
The tour-de-Lance is shaping up as predicted with Armstrong sitting in a menacing 2nd place after some great action in the Pyrenees mountain stages over the last few nights. Today's stage was dead flat and normally wouldnt be overly interesting as it was expected to stay together all day and finish in a bunch sprint, however there was a hilight for us kiwis with the sole NZ entry Julian Dean making it into an early breakaway group that stood a good chance of escaping and making it to the end. Unfortunately they didnt cooperate and got swallowed up. Kinda cool reading the blow-by-blow coverage though and seeing our boys name popping up. 11:50:22 PM |
