Canadians are Sane Jamie and I have just spent a few days on Apex mountain in Canada with friends of mine that I met in San Diego last time I went to the O'Reilly convention. Was great to catch up with them and refreshing to have a few days in a country where people are pleasent, hospitable, funny, genuine... and Sane. On the way up and down the mountain we covered 50-odd kays of DREAM mountain roads ... beautiful smooth groomed truck-free surface, no traffic, winding all the way, well signed on tight corners. Jeeze it was brilliant. Jamie and I were sitting in the back seat of Barry's Jeep drooling out the window imagining what it would be like to blast around here on our bikes, like a couple of kids in a lolly store.. It was torment !!! Barry and Paula have just bought this WICKED log cabin up in the resort village, they're on ski patrol there in the winter so got us onto the lifts for free to ride up the mountain then we walk back down one of the runs down to the cabin. Man what a field. Loads of black runs, and double-blacks, steep as hell but wide enough to manouver without clobbering a tree on the way down. Really lookin FWD to gettin back there one winter soon. 8:40:11 AM |
