Rogues, Vagabonds and Disreputable Persons (link)

100 years ago in NZ - the Waikato times features one of those 100 years ago news headlines kinda inserts a few pages in from the front page each day and todays one is a real classic...

"A man named Thomas Kennedy, whom the police described as a very bad character, was sentenced at the Auckland Police Court yesterday to six months imprisonment on charges of assaulting Percy Isaacs, proprietor of the Royal Hotel, of being a rogue and a vagabond, and of consorting with disreputable persons"

Man, I hope to hell being a rogue, vagabond and consorting with disreputable persons isn't an offence in the 21st centrury, or I could be in deep water.

Speaking of disreputable persons, a couple of pages along in tonights Times (wow, what a paper!) there's an article entitled...

McCartney tried Heroin, preferred Cocaine

Various statements Paul made recently to the Daily Mirror in the UK are quoted, with classics like....

"I tried Heroin just the once...I didnt realise I'd taken it. I was was just handed something, smoked it, then found out what it was"

He woulda found out what it was all right, in pretty short order. Poor fellah. No doubt he thought it was a clove ciggarete or something. He was also quoted as saying he partook in...

"Coke and maybe some grass to balance it out. I was never completely crazy with cocaine" ... and later when talking about drugs influencing the Beatles music... "Day Tripper, that's one about acid"

No fucking kidding Paul. Pull the other one. Seems kinda funny that he should be coming out with these gems at this stage in his life, it's not like he's short on cash or needs the publicity or anything to drum up record sales. Maybe he just feels the need to connect with todays generation of chemical consumers.

Fancy some 'P' Paul? ... hehe ... 'P' and 'P'aul ... get it?
