Pirhana, Pollution and Poo in Space (link)
I read a couple of articles tonight that tickled my health and biology fancy. The first is related to a warning issued by authorities in Thailand to steer clear of the public waterways in Bangkok becuase of a possible presence of Piranha. I can tell you however from personal experience that if you were unfortunate enough to fall in one of Bankok's filthy waterways, flesh-eating fish would only be one of many things you'd be worrying about. After first reading about this I had a poke around for related articles and turned up a horror story about the illegal wildlife trade in Thailand. Check this shit out, in April this year alone, more than 500 people were arrested and nearly 200,000 animals were seized in raids on traders in Thailand. Let's read that again ....

The second item of interest tonight was an article on SpaceDaily.com concerning the volume and handling of human-waste on future inter-planetrary (ie, to Mars) space-flights. The item reads...
Fasincating Shit !!! Literally. I personally cant wait to taste some of that 'recycled' water. Mmmmmmm.... 9:53:34 PM |
