Peter FitzSimons, the man Kiwi sports fans love to hate, has written a 'Memo to New Zealand' regarding our performance in the Americas Cup yacht race which is being held here in NZ at the moment....

There can't be a single person with a email account that hasn't received a few dozen of those classic Nigerian SPAM/scam emails. The thing that amazes me is all the idiots that actually get suckered into them.

Anyway, it seems that one of those idiots has lost his cool after being ripped off by the scammers, and has taken it out on a local Nigerian diplomat in the Czech Republic. I wonder if he really feels any better about it now. I'm picking ... Not.

Oh dear, this is terrible. There was a dude moaning in the nz.general newsgroup the other day about being charged $200 for 911 calls (actually we use 111 calls in NZ) his child had been making from his home phone. Sympathy wasn't exactly flowing in, but then the following was posted to the thread which did get everyone fired up about phoning MPs etc..

"I collapsed at home about a month or so ago and I couldn't move.  I got my 3 year old to call 111 and he said that mommy was ill.  They hung up on him and never sent anyone!!  I was on the floor for over 3 hours till Phil came home from work."

The poor bitch.
