A Grease and Rubber Change
My poor old ticker got a wee fright today when I wheezed my way down the drive and off to work on my human powered cycle. This bizarre behaviour wasnt driven by some last ditch attempt to shake any waisteline before the unavaiodable post xmas beach trips or anything. Much too late for that.
It was just that I had to drop the kwacka down the shop to get a new rear tire fitted so I actually had no choice in the matter. It was either cycle to work or get the TeRapa bus into town (the "shoppers bus" as Dennis calls the 9 O'Clock service)
Then I get home tonight and just when the body thought it was getting another week off, I dusted off the roller-blades, removed the wheels and popped out their bearings to give 'em a good old grease-and-oil change. Lubed 'em up, slid back on their axels and into a fresh set of rubber for the last day at work fun walk/run at 9am tommorow.
It'll be weather permitting of course, there's no way I'm gonna be exercising in the rain, blades arent the best of vehicles traction-wise in the wet. Even Pederson raised her eyebrows at me tuning them up tonight saying "are you sure you wanna be doing that when you havent been on them in such a long time?"
