Crazy Christmas Antics (link)
Last week of work this week before breaking up for xmas and thankfully its looking like its gonna be at a fairly casual pace. Friday afternoon last week loads of teams seemed to have had long-ish lunches and it was so eerily quiet by about 4:30 that I had to waltz down the corridor to see if anyone was actually left on site. Shortly after I was off home for a shower, on the bike to the bottle store for a cold box of Codys, then round to Lord Plunket's for what turned out to be a fabulous all night piss-up. Jeeze we had some laughs, only a small gathering but boat-loads of hillarity, a little dancin, very few broken glasses or other household items, and no personal physical injuries that I noticed. Thankfully I got home not long after Kymbo had dismissed her gaggle of sheilas which meant I didn't get into any trouble for being late :-) And now I'm making a quick foray onto the Interweb to use up the last couple of Megs of bandwidth left in the pissy 1GB that Telecom offer in their starter ADSL package. We got ripped off something cronic last month through multiple downloads of WindowsXP SP2 which bascially doubled the traffic. Didnt seem to make any difference to the "helpdesk" operator we got through to after waiting on the line for 20mins. Before I disconnect to save another monthly robbery from my service provider I just had to have a read about a couple of stories I caught on the evening news that freaked me out tonight. One was the story about some scrary bitch in Kansas who strangled an 8-month pregnant woman and cut out the fetus later claiming it as her own. The second event was the double bombings against Shiite's in Iraq, just in time for the elections. But the most disturbing story has to be the naming by Time magazine of George W-ya as their man of the year. What the fuck is up with people these days? 6:56:10 PM |
