Tour-de-Lance (link)
the tour has been running over the last 3 weeks which has been a major distraction for me evening wise, ended up being a much closer battle than the last couple of years which was good, even managed to convert a couple more people to following the great annual cycling event. Also got to watch some live coverage on SkyTV round at me mate Robbo's which was friggin brilliant. What a treat. I should really email Sky and thank them for organising that, they'll appreciate hearing from me I'm sure. One especially positive thing about this years tour was the absence of drug test failures for a change (well, there was one Italian ejection), with the result that the media were forced to report on the actual race and the amazing performance of the athletes, and not just focus on the negative issues. Must have been a real challenge for some reporters, especially wankers like morning breakfast presenter Mike Hoskings. The whole drug issue was really a leveler in the end coz pretty much all of them were probably taking some substance or another. The thing dick-heads like Hoskings seem to ignore is that these guys are legends, all of 189 of them who start, and its a mental game as much as a physical one. 6:00:36 PM |
