DeeKnow’s Grotto

After spending most of Thursday cruising down to Key West with Sam in glorious weather in the Mustang with the top down, I guess you could say we were pretty laxed out, footloose and fancy free.

On the Friday we had to leave in a bit of a hurry after sleeping in (for some reason) I got this cold-sweaty feeling that my time calculations about flight connections werent quite right, and sure enough reailsed I had 3 hours less than I thought I had to make it back up to Ft Lauderdale, so we were back on the road again in short order.

Things were going swimingly, despite the threat of missing my flight, then next thing we are ground to a halt in a queue of cars. Sam unclicked his seatbelt to sit up and stretch as we were moving at a snails pace, then next thing we know theres a pair of State troopers roaring up behind us, lights on, burst on the horn, and some violent gesticulation indicating I should pull over.

Rosco P Coal-train approaches the car....

"WHAT THE GOD DAMN HELL DO YOU ASSHOLES THINK YOU ARE DOIN?"

stunned silence...

"WHAT KINDA STUPIDA DUM ASS SHIT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE UP  TO ASSHOLE SITTING UP ON THE SEAT LIKE THAT IN TRAFFIC,  WHERES YOUR GOD-DAMNED LICENCE"

I hand him my kiwi licence and mention (in case he's hard of reading) that I'm from New Zealand...

"I DONT GIVE A SHIT IF YOUR FROM THE ROYAL FAMILY, IN FACT I WOULDNT GIVE A FUCK IF YOU WERE THE GOD DAMN QUEEN OF ENGLAND. AND WHAT ABOUT YOU, YOU FROM NEW ZEALAND TOO?"

Sam nods, sliently, as he's from Canada...

"DONT YOU ASSHOLES LET ME CATCHING YOU DOIN ANY SHIT LIKE THIS AGAIN OR YOUR GONNA REGRET IT"

He passed back my license, wiped the bile off his chin, returned to his patrol wagon, and him and the car paired up with him moved off in unison (OJ simpson fashion as
Sam said) to hunt down their next insurgents.
