Weetbix vs Fuel-Cells (link)
Eveyone knows about these new fandangled fuel-cells that are being touted as the new thing in energy storage right? The problem is when they'll actually become cost effective and if that will actually be before the worlds Oil supplies run out. Well it seems I may have discovered a solution for the pending energy crisis, and the discovery came about over breakfast this morning. I got up early enought to consider eating before work, flicked on the the kettle to boil water to pour into a bowl of Weetbix before topping it with milk. It seemed like I'd poured an impossibly large volume of boiling hot water onto the Weetbix and still they kept soaking it up .... and up .... and up.... until it seemed the jug would run out of water. Then when left to stand for a minute or two the water was mysteriously gone so I topped it up with another pour of the scalding enery loaded liquid. So there we have it. A perfectly natural way to store energy in large quantities. And the only technical hurdle to overcome now is how to get the energy back out other than by eating it. Patent Pending 8:29:17 AM |
