Taking the Mike
I you don't follow tech news then you may not have heard about the Canadian teenager who recently got severely hassled by Micro$oft's men-in-black who wanted to wrestle a domain name (web address) off him because it seemed too close to the www.microsoft.com one. The guys name is Mike Rowe, and being a geeky sort of dude he thought he'd register the web address www.MikeRoweSoft.com. Billy's boys didnt see the funny side to it, threatened him with legal action, news sources found out and defended the youngsters position accusing MS of being bullies, and they kind-of backed down by offering him a settlement including some cash and misc microsoft goodies as payment for the domain name (and compensation for his experience) A nice outcome !!! 8:12:35 PM |
Flexible Electronic Paper According to an article at NewScientist, the electronics company Phillips is only a year or two away from mass production of flexible electronic paper. This has been talked about for years now but it seems like its about to become science-fact. Pretty cool shit (from my geeky perspective) 8:06:32 PM |
