Space 1999 (link)
Oh man, here's a blast from the past, do you remember the TV show Space-1999? (you chicks can switch off now, I checked with Kym and she had no idea). The show seemed so real, so much more cred than star-trek. When you watched it you almost felt you were there. Fact rather than fantasy. Man I loved it! Imagine my joy then, when I stumbled across a faithfull rendering of the mighty Eagle transporter tonight, available for free download for Microsoft Flight-Simulator, a game I've been playing on my PC at home of late. Up till now I've been stuffing about with fixed-wing props and jets and the odd helicopter, but this is a whole new ball-game. This is 'an Eagle' dude, wild!!! Of course, the Eagle is really designed for use in zero-gravity around moon-base-alpha, but the buiders of the FlightSim version have modelled the physics so it handles kinda realistically here on earth, and tonight I've been blasting round much of the South Island terrorising the inhabitants of Queenstown and Christchurch. Wicked. Bring on the re-runs television NZ ... Please !!! 10:29:38 PM |
