The Legal Scavange Begins (link) Here we go. Now that Iraq has been grappled to the ground, and as Saddam no longer has control of the country or its purse-strings, the lawyers representing familes of those who died in the WTC attacks in New York are gunning for what they can from Iraq to compensate for their loss. According to an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, a United States federal judge has ruled that Iraq assisted the Al Qaeda attacks in the in the form of a plane they could perform hiijack training on, and that this is grounds enough for two families to seek $100m compensation from any Iraqi and bin Laden assets seized by the US Government. And you thought those troops were stopping looters and bank robbers after Bagdhad fell to help the Iraqi people and rebuild their country. No sir, it seems it may really be to pay for the re-building of the Trade Center site and pay for legal settlements. 1:18:36 PM |
