Bring on the White stuff

Yesterday morning was a pearler, clean clear and good visibility, which made for perfect conditions for spotting Mt Ruapehu from the south side of our house. Kinda freeky to think you can see hundreds of kilometers just by being elevated a few dozens of meters above the local ground level.

Being both skiiers it was really kinda exciting spotting *our snowy mountain* all those hundreds of kilomoters away down south from the comfort of our warm house. Especially neat coz there arent too many spots in Hamilton where you're high enough to be able to get a clear view. Mawzy works a few floors up at Waikato Hospital with a southerly aspect so she gets to see the mountains often, but it rocks being able to see them from home too.

As it happens we just payed for our season ski passes last week on the old early bird special and quite timely then that I should get an email from Jezza yesterday with a wicked photo of Ruapehu as he passed by in his car ....

thought you cats might be interested in this pic i took on the way down to wellington this weekend... apparently heaps had just been washed away the previous week!! but.. bring it on :)

There's plenty more a that white stuff needed to get the season underway so thank God it's started getting a heap colder and we've finally bid farewell to that sodding endless summer we've been suffering for so long :-)

Summer lovers don't get it of course, but us Wintry folks love it when the weather turns all arctic on us and relish the thought of pulling on a beanie, jumper and nice thick pair of rugby socks so we can get out and enjoy the sub-zero wonderland. Bring it on all right.
