Too Close to Call? (link)
I dont like to crap on about politics, its not the most thrilling of topics at the best of times, and it needs to be debated between people of different views, not just bull-shitted on about by a one-eyed snake like myself. What really amazes me is all the fekking attention the US election is getting here in New Zealand. This morning on breakfast TV the wankers had red and blue ribbons and all sorts of American regalia drapped over the news-desk furniture. Hell, even during an all-arvo meeting we had at work just now we had to flick to CNN on the PC hooked up to the projector so folks could see voting updates. I can understand the polarisation in the states, and it really is a two-horse race that's too close to call, but in the grand scheme of things (and I'm talking decades here) does Democrat or Republican bullying of the world really make any difference. I refuse to believe that lobbyists for Kerry arent gonna have the same evil plots in mind that they like to tell us Bush's supporters have demonstrated. They'll be frothing at the mouth. The only positive thing I can think of is the apparent high-voter turnout fo rthis election. Folks are either driven to the polls by issues they are concerned about, or have been brain-washed into thinking they're gonna make a difference. I personally predict the numbers wont be drastically different, it'll go down to the wire, and as my american mate Tim said in an email today...
