So Much Bike
Kawasaki

After the 900SS-FE test-ride yesterday I wandered down Manchester St to the bike-shop I'd seen the ZX7R sitting menacingly in. Quick sign of the usual insurance form, on with the helmet and back on the road out past Hagley-park and up the same twisty quarry road I'd been on previously.

Despite the colour, the truth is the ZXR was a *friggin thrill to ride* from start to finish. Really !! I was a little unsure how much welly to give the thing at first, but after only a couple of km's of windy road I suddenly found myself cane-ing along with a grin from ear-to-ear.

Jesus its a great bike. Has pretty much all the positive features I've liked in the other machines I've tried recently. Absolutely LOVED the way the power rolled on. It kinda rushed without feeling threatening, and although I felt like I was testing it, I was clearly nowhere near feeling all it had to offer. (check out my Dyno Chart comparing the ZXR with a 900ss)

Didn't quite have the same earnest-ness that the new 600's had at full-roar, but it seemed to have loads of thrust across the rev-range.  I couldnt beleive it. Almost like an angry-twin maybe. Modern fuel-injected, 4-valve+ twin owners will no doubt know what I mean.

The Handling seemed Wicked, I'd heard and read loads where people have said the ZXR's were 'planted' or 'on rails' and other similar wank bullshit like that. But Fuck did it track well, it really did hold a nice steady line while cornering.

Cosmetically its one of those machines that you either love or hate (mostly the latter I'm picking), but basically ... and despite the colour ... for $9000 it seems like so much bike
