Back in H-Town got back last night from our two-week winter vacation in the North Islands ski playground, Mt Ruapehu. Got every second day in skiing, with a few days where the weather kept the mountain shut.
The bad weather was of the type where it was snowing, so it was actually good-weather and meant loads of fresh snow, and some brilliant sking when we did get our arses up the mountain on the fine (hangover-free) days.
We really did have a blast on the slopes, lift queues were practically non-existant either side of the weekends, snow was the best I've skied on in years (for the North Island), even had a chance to improve the powder technique after the couple of big overnight dumps.
Have come back to a very happy cat, a fine feed of salmon at Gourmet Sushi in town, the warmer climate of the Waikato, and that bloddy Blaster virus on my computer at home which is turning out to be a pain in the friggin arse to wipe.
