Nationality: Australian

Better known over recent years for his success aboard Ducatis in World Superbikes and most recently for his entry into Moto GP he started racing in 1992 on a Kawasaki KR-1 in Australia the 250 cc Production Class.

In 1993 Troy moved up to a Kawasaki 600 and raced a few national events. 1994 Troy rode the same bike in the Australian 600 Championship finishing sixth. He also won the 600 race at Bathurst. That would be the last time that motorcycles would race there (until this year). In 1995 he rode in the Australian 600 Championship finishing second.

In 1996 the first year in the Australian Superbike Championship riding a Kawasaki, Troy finished third in the Championship. In 1997 Troy was second in the Australian Superbike Championship riding a Suzuki.
