After having finished 3rd equal on a Yamaha in the 1991 British 750cc Supercup championship, Stringer placed 3rd overall again on a Kawasaki in the 1993 season in a year when there were four Kawasaki's in the top-8 at the end of the season.

Stringer switched to a Ducati for the 1994 and 1995 seasons then was back on a Kawasaki in 1996 when he finished 7th overall. He was a member of the Sabre Airways Kawasaki team in 1997 finishing 11th overall and was partnered by Steve Hislop later in the season.

Has also competed in the Macau Grand Prix,
