Name: Piergiorgio Bontempi
Date of Birth: 6th February 1968
Nationality: Italian

Had his road racing debut in 1987 and was 1988 Italian 500cc Sport Production Champion (Suzuki). Between 1996 and 1998 he finished 15th, 10th and 13th respectively in World Superbikes.

Bontempi was a member of the 1996 factory entered Kawasaki teams which won both the Le Mans and Spa endurance races that year. He was entered in the semi-factory supported Kawasaki Bertocchi team for the '97 season WSB riding a ZX7RR and in '98 was back with the Kawasaki France endurance racing team finishing second at Le Mans.

Raced at Laguna seca in '98 on a ZX7R. Between 1999 and 2003 he switched to the Supersport championship riding Yamaha's and Ducatis and in 2004 he's back racing Superbikes in the WSB for the Zongshen team on a Suzuki.
