Name: Hitoyasu Izutsu Hitoyasu finished 8th in the 1998 All Japan Superbike Championship, 11th in 1999 and 3rd the same year in the Suzuka 8 Hour endurance event. He was a wildcard entry for the Sugo/Japan leg of the World Superbikes in 2000 when he won both races for Kawasaki on the ZX7R and took out the domestic Japanese Superbike title the same year beating defending champion Wataru Yoshikawa. The wins at Sugo were his first in national or international competition in his seven years as a professional rider.
He had nine starts in 2001 in the WSB with two podium placings at Sugo once again (a 2nd and a 3rd) and another couple of top-10 finishes to end the season 14th overall. For the 2002 season he was paired with Chris Walker in the Fuchs Kawasaki factory team and ended the season 14th again after another few top-10 finishes and best placing of 6th at Valencia during the year.
