Personalization and Privacy Survey (link) Personalisation and Privacy Survey was conducted by the group "Personalisation Consortium" last year and results show that over 70% of users prefer that a site remembers them when they return. The survey asks a lot of ecommerce related questions but the results and the press release make interesting reading especially on the kinds of information people are happy to divulge. 1:26:06 PM |

Protecting the User's Mailbox (link) Protecting the User's Mailbox - Jakob Nielson's latest alertbox article talks about no overcrowding users inboxes needlessly as well as including mention of privacy policies in the messages you do send them re what you plan to do with the data you have about them. Cocoon Performance/Scalability (link) Cocoon Performance - looks like there are some scalability issues according to a postee to the cocoon-dev list ... "Every new release rises up the same question - Cocoon doesn't scale, what can I do? Often we can solve this problem, but we do that very redundant." and then goes on to mention he plans to write a performance/tuning guide. Will be interesting to follow-up on this when it comes out. 8:40:10 AM |
